Percentage Land Cover 1km Europe/North Africa: Copernicus Global Land Service

This is a set of images for a European and North Africa extent of 1km averages of the Copernicus Global Land Service: collection 3: epoch 2019 -  Percentage Land Cover 100m datasets as described at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3939049

Produced by the global component of the Copernicus Land Service, derived from PROBA-V satellite observations and ancillary datasets.

The maps include a set of versatile cover fractions: percentage (%) of ground cover for the 10 main classes:

  • Percent vegetation cover for bare-sparse-vegetation land cover class
  • Percent vegetation cover for cropland land cover class
  • Percent vegetation cover for herbaceous vegetation land cover class
  • Percent vegetation cover for moss and lichen land cover class
  • Percent vegetation cover for shrubland land cover class
  • Percent vegetation cover for forest land cover class
  • Percent ground cover for snow and ice land cover class
  • Percent ground cover for built-up land cover class
  • Percent ground cover for permanent water land cover class
  • Percent ground cover for seasonal water land cover class

The data has been aggregated to 1km to match the standard predictor dataset suite used by ERGO and various project members.

The data can be downloaded from the directory PALE-Blu Data > PB Land Cover  found on the following page http://www.palebludata.com/?q=data.  If you do not already have an account you can request access by emailing info@palebludata.com with your name, profession, institution, city, country.  With a short description of what data you require and what you will use it for.  Please also include your affiliation to either the PALE-Blu, MOOD or our other partner projects if you have one.  Much of our data is free to registered users.  But others are restricted to approved project partners.
