GBIF & partners are encouraging biodiversity record submissions from Russia

Biodiversity Data Journal LogoThere is an excellent initiative from The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), Finnish Biodiversity and the Biodiversity Data Journal to waive publication fees for papers outlining biodiversity records from Russia. The disease host models over continental Europe and North Africa that we develop for projects such as PALE-Blu, MOOD H2020 and others would greatly improve with increased data from Russia and Eastern Europe.  They currently suffer from an over reliance on data from Western Europe.
