Direct experience of the following would be advantageous: MS Access, SQL Server, Oracle (or Oracle spatial), PostgreSQL (or PostGIS), Web mapping, open source GIS and FME Workbench / Server, system testing, delivering training, managing projects and developing business. An appreciation of open channel hydraulics, physical geography, fluvial, tidal and coastal processes or numerical modelling and simulation would also be useful, as would knowledge of Floods related data and the marketplace.
Working as a member of the Floods Group of GIS Analysts / Developers you will have responsibility for designing and delivering innovative solutions for a wide range of research and consultancy projects covering topics ranging from flood hazard mapping and risk modelling to climate change assessments and scheme optimisation.
