9th GEO European Projects Workshop - Copenhagen 15-16 June 2015 - REGISTRATION OPEN UNTIL 15 MAY

This is a kind reminder about the 9th GEO European Projects' Workshop which will be held in Copenhagen, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, on 15th and 16th June 2015.

You can still register your attendance on http://geo.pbe.eionet.Europa.eu. The deadline for the registration of attendees is 15th May. Please note however that the deadline for receiving your proposals for talks and poster is already passed.

The Organising Committee is working hard on the workshop's agenda, now close to its completion and which draft version you can find attached to this mail. This year the motto of the conference will be "Shaping the Future: Constructing GEOSS from European initiatives". On the first day (15th), the three co-organisers (the hosts, the Danish Meteorological Institute and the European Environment Agency, and the European Commission) will open the event with an overview of their activities relevant to GEO and the GEOSS. Later that morning and in the afternoon, nine splinter sessions and more than 40 interesting talks will allow us to learn more about the GEO-related activities that Europe is carrying out in the domains of Biodiversity and Ecosystems, Marine Observing and Information System, Architecture and Data Management, Data Access, Citizens' Observatories, Supersites and Polar Regions, Sustainable Development or Food, land, water and bioeconomy.

On the second day (16th), two plenary sessions will guide us through an overview of the European programmes and initiatives in the domain of Earth observation and the plans for the future, Horizon 2020, the new GEO Strategic Plan and a session aiming at discussing the engagement of the European Private Sector in GEO, with a special focus on young entrepreneurs and innovative companies. During both days we will have also a poster and video exhibition during both days.

As a remark for those who submitted a request for a talk and/or poster, please note that you will be contacted individually very soon by the Organising Committee with more details.

We have just created a LinkedIn group 9th GEO European Projects Workshop 2015 so you can connect with other participants before and after the event. You are very welcome to become a member and participate in the discussions.

Should you have any questions or doubt, please contact Sanja Novakovikj in CC (Sanja.Novakovikj@eea.europa.eu).

We are looking forward to seeing you in Copenhagen!
