You will investigate models and methods of predictive analytics for the early detection of an increased risk of disease outbreaks and epidemic emergence based on animal production, animal health and environmental data. The focus will be laid on the prediction of the spatio-temporal evolution of these adverse events within an analytical framework conceived by the GIS group. You will present and publish your results in an international scientific context and be enrolled in a doctoral program at the Department of Informatics, University of Zurich (Prof. Abraham Bernstein, Ph.D.).

You have a Master degree in computer science, geoinformatics, environmental sciences or a related domain. You are familiar with knowledge-based methods and with software development. You have experience in relational databases and GIS and, preferably, basic knowledge of the statistical analysis of time series. An independent scientific work style and the ability to work in a team are required.
