The candidate serves as a Research Fellow within the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The incumbent will be responsible for using statistical and mathematical modeling of populations and/or diseases to collaborate with wildlife service operations as well as veterinary services to address gaps in prevention and response to wildlife-livestock or wildlife-human conflicts. The overall goal of the fellowship is to develop quantitative decision-support tools for mitigating damage and disease risks from feral swine in the USA.

APHIS is an emergency response agency. This means that all Agency employees may be asked or assigned to participate in rotating temporary duty assignments to support emergency programs at some time during their careers with APHIS. For details click: APHIS Emergency Response
