JOB PURPOSE:
To undertake research in any aspect of advanced and specialised GIScience, for example, spatial statistics, geodetics, geomatics
and geoinformatics, remote sensing and modelling that complements and enhances research activities within the School of
Geography, Archaeology and Palaeoecology; to contribute to relevant collaborative research programmes, to teach at undergraduate
and postgraduate level, and to contribute to School administration/ outreach activity.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The School of Geography, Archaeology and Palaeoecology comprises three research clusters: Environmental Change, Past Cultural
Change and Society, Space and Culture. In addition, the School hosts five research centres, including a specialised GIS unit, and is
developing an internationally recognised research and teaching programme in the areas of ground-based and airborne geospatial
data analysis, geodetics, remote sensing, photogrammetry, LiDAR and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) survey. The School supports
internationally recognised research and education programmes (Geography and Archaeology & Palaeoecology) that tackle vital
cultural, environmental and social concerns, past and present, including a flagship postgraduate programme in 'GIS and Cultural
Heritage'.
