A part-time entomology technician is required to support a new £1.3 million BBSRC-funded project investigating the role of climate and environmental change in the emergence of insect-borne diseases of animals. You will provide field and laboratory support by assisting with the collection of insect vectors on UK farms; with the sorting, morphological and molecular identification of species; and with the molecular identification of blood-meal sources. You will also help maintain laboratory and field equipment and train others where appropriate. You should be qualified to BTEC Higher level (or equivalent) and have experience of entomological research, including the sorting and morphological identification of insects. A Masters level qualification in entomology is desirable.

The post is available until 30 March 2017. The post is funded at 0.5 fte; however, there may be an option to increase this, depending on funding.
